What’s hot: Drupal

It’s been some months I keep getting more and more calls from recruiters for Drupal Developer positions. It seems Drupal is THE CMS of the year, specifically with it’s seventh release on its way.

Drupal is a Content Management System created by Dries Buytaert, a student from Antwerp. It’s first version was put online by Dries himself in January 2001. Drupal is being used by insistutions and companies around the world: The White House, SUN, IBM, Greenpeace, Novell, Yahoo!, Fedex, Nike, Forbes.. And the list goes on.

The Drupal community website, is undergoing redesign, and hopefully it will be soon online. (I’m not a big fan of the current portal design-wise and functionalities-wise).

Business-wise, there has been lots of discussion about Drupal Certifications, but the Drupal Association says it does not have the resources to organise such a thing, and prefers to leave third-party companies do it.
